Old-Fashioned Quilting Bee Workshop
The Whaley Historic House Museum is partnering with area nonprofit Flint Handmade to present this six-part workshop series. Participants are invited to come and learn the art of English Paper Piecing in an historic setting. No previous quilting experience is required and visitors don’t need to attend all sessions to participate. Together we will create a quilt that will be raffled off to benefit the Whaley Historic House Museum and Flint Handmade. Reservations are requested and can be made at (810) 471-4714.
Participants are welcome to bring their own sewing supplies (needles, scissors, thimbles, fabric, etc.), but supplies will also be on hand for use. There is no admission fee for this workshop, but donations are appreciated. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Call (810) 471-4714 for more information.
Workshop Meetings: April 18, June 20, August 15, October 17, December 19 (Dates Subject to Change with Reasonable Notice)

Flint in Photos
This summer the Whaley Historic House Museum plans to place the spotlight back on the city it calls home. The House will feature a display of photographs winding through its halls that takes flint from the nineteenth into the twentieth century! The exhibit will run through the months of July and August and will be featured while the House is open for the Convention and Visitor Bureau’s “Be a Tourist in Your Town” event.
We are also seeking submissions of photographs for our exhibit. If you have any images from Flint’s history, please share a copy with us! You can email a copy to firstname.lastname@example.org or mail one to our address, 624 E. Kearsley St., Flint, MI 48503. We only want copies, though, and are not responsible for the care of your original image. If you have any questions about what we are looking for or you can get it to us, please call (810) 471-4714.
See what the Whaley House has in store for this year’s October programming!
