Well the end of summer has officially passed as we are now in September! Chilly breezes, apple orchards, changing leaves. Autumn is in the air. We here at the Whaley hope you all had a wonderful summer and are looking for some fun experiences in the fall. And the Whaley have a few events we think you will enjoy!
Upcoming this month in September, we have a History Happy Hour at Tenacity Brewing in Flint by Historian and metro Detroit native Trico Lutkins titled, “From WXYZ to the Silver Screen: the Lone Ranger, an American Icon” as well as a number of Fundraisers benefiting our fire restoration work at the museum in the later part of the month of September. On Saturday, September 23rd at the Barnes and Noble in Flint township, we have a Fall Book Fair where we will be on site with a number of kid-centric activities and information provided on what’s going on in our renovations and how the house is coming along. Two days later, on September 25th, we are partnering with the Grand Blanc area Panera Bread Company in the Heritage Park complex. From 4 pm to 8 pm, you can come in, dig in, bring an empty stomach, bring a friend, and bring our event flyer. With the flyer, a portion of your dinner will go to benefit our fire restoration and help up open the museum again to the public in the year 2018.
In October, we have a History Happy Hour on Thursday, October 5th with area high school student Nigel Tate on the topic of Kit-Houses. We also currently have a fundraiser on October 16th, partnering with the Fenton Panera Bread Company on Owen Road. Just as the September Grand Blanc Panera event, the cause is from 4 to 8 pm and you must bring the event flyer that you can find on our Facebook page.
You will be able to find information on all of these events on our Facebook page closer to the time of each event.
We hope you have a wonderful fall and see your face at some of these events!
