Hello all history fans and Whaley House followers, its intern Beth her coming at you live from the Whaley House. I hope that you all have had a lovely weekend and despite the heat and the fierce storm on Friday you all had a chance to come out and enjoy Back to the Bricks. I know here at the Whaley House we had a quilting bee going on Saturday. As you all may remember from my last post, here at the Whaley house, we are starting our Halloween adventure. I’ve been continuing to help Sam, the director, out with research for the upcoming Halloween exhibit; Monsters of Old.
We’ve also already begun construction on an awesome Halloween decoration for the exhibit and have been brainstorming other crafts to create for the exhibit. Our current project is a DIY (Do It Yourself) Scary Halloween tree and it is coming along great so far. I can honestly say that I am so excited to see the finished product of our project and then the exhibit. It will look AWESOME!! I was also able to listen to the Whaley House’s grant application being reviewed and that was another amazing and intriguing experience for me to be a part of. Today I will be putting together all my Monsters of Old research for Sam and we’ll be taking down the Flint in Photos exhibit as well as preparing for a meeting later.
Well readers and fans I am sad to say that this will be my last post as today is the last day of my internship here at the lovely Whaley House. It’s been an amazing 4 months and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’m so glad that I was given this opportunity to get hands-on and in depth experience in my future career field. As well as meet some amazingly nice and talented people. I am now even more determined to obtain my dream job of working in a museum. This experience has been a lot of fun for me and I hope any future intern for the Whaley House feels the same way.
Well readers, it’s time that I bid you all a fond farewell and to remind you to check out all the awesome events coming up in October! It’s going to be super exciting!!!
