A bright good morning to all Whaley fans and readers on this rainy Friday morning. Its the one and only intern Beth here coming at you live from the Whaley House. Everything here this week has been so busy, non-stop, in preparation for the Flint in Photos exhibit that starts tomorrow. Everyone has been making sure everything looks perfect and rearranging pictures and canvases to perfection. Jason’s work of art I must say will be an awesome first sight for tourists coming in and there will be plenty more canvases to look at and be intrigued over. We have so many pictures but of course we’d love some more so feel free to send them in. Old photos and recent photos of downtown Flint or yourself and others in Flint are welcome. The exhibit goes on until August 15th so there is plenty of time to send in photos or come on in and check it out, or both.
This week I’ve only had a little bit of time to work on my report for my project as I have been helping set up the Flint in Photos exhibit by cutting out pictures and gluing them and sweeping, dusting, and vacuuming to make the house all pretty for tourists. While cutting out pictures seems to be a repetitive and therefore boring job, I actually liked it a lot even when my hands got covered in spray-on glue and everything kept sticking to me. Now that the canvases are being set up; everything is coming together and the pictures look fantastic and give off a sense of pride to be had of Flint. Another fun event that is coming up is the FireFly Walk over at Applewood. I have never been to this event and am therefore very excited I get to go and am also interested to see what it’s all about. It starts at 5pm on July 23rd so don’t be late :). And don’t forget to come check out the Flint in Photos exhibit tomorrow!! Everyone has worked really hard to create this masterpiece of an exhibit.
Until next time readers!!
Enjoy your weekend!
