This is Jason, writing to you after a long hiatus. Last Thursday (4/2/2015), the U of M Flint History Club held their 2nd annual History is Timeless event here at the Whaley House, and oh what a grand time was had by all! Guests were encouraged to come dressed in costumes from their favorite period in history, and we had a wide range of eras represented.
There was a heavily armed knight, an Indian princess, a 19th century Welsh drover, a 1920s flapper, and even a modern day construction worker. There was even a fortune teller, plying her craft for $1 per reading.
The Gilded Age architecture and decor of the Whaley House served as the perfect backdrop for all of the historical variety portrayed at the event.
Can’t wait to do it all again next year!
