Summer Planning

Well Whaley blog followers, it’s officially mid-May! Can you believe it?! I know I can’t. I’m still stuck in March mode, I think.

I don’t know about you, but at the end of the spring several of my regular time commitments end. I only have a few more concerts for the concert band in which I play. Choir is over for the summer. We only have one more board meeting at the museum before it breaks for the summer as well! Then we’ll be back in September. It seriously boggles my mind that time goes so quickly.

Just because our official board meetings break for the summer, it doesn’t mean that it will stop working. There will still be program planning, membership needs, restoration projects, and more that will need to be completed. This year, we are going to start working on something else as well. We plan to meet and discuss issues pertaining to branding, marketing, visioning, and strategic planning and we’re looking for a bit of help from you! What do you think of when you hear about the Whaley House? What kind of image do we bring to your mind? What kind of role would like the museum to take in the community? What kinds of things would bring you into the museum? We are part of the community to serve you, you’re educational and leisure needs and wants.

If you have any feedback you’d like to share, comment here, email me at 1885@whaleyhouse.com, or call us at 810-471-4714. Also, look for a poll to be posted on Facebook in the next few weeks. We look forward to working with you to move the Whaley House forward in the next few years and beyond.

Welcome!
